Buyer question

How do I get my business mentioned by ChatGPT?

These are the four "how do I" questions we measure for every client. The honest answer to each is a method, not a trick, and the method is the same one we run on ourselves.

What we can observe

On 2 September 2026 we put fourteen buyer questions to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini — seven in English, seven in French — and recorded 210 answers. Every answer cited pages that answered the buyer's question directly, in the buyer's language, with specifics. Businesses whose facts were not written where the assistants read them were not in the answer. On that day that included Be Preferred, which is why this page exists.

The five steps

  1. Write down your buyers' real questions, in the language they ask them.
  2. Measure: put them to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini and keep every answer, dated.
  3. Read the pages the assistants cited and compare them with yours.
  4. Publish direct answers and one plain statement of your business facts — visible text and structured data saying the same thing.
  5. Measure again a month later. Say "observed after", not "caused by", unless the evidence supports more.

Be Preferred runs these steps monthly for small and medium businesses in Montreal, Quebec and Canada, in English and French. The first measurement and the first three recommendations are free. The method in full.

How do I get my business mentioned by ChatGPT?

Give it something to cite. In every answer we have recorded, the assistants named businesses whose pages state plainly what they do, where, for whom, and answer the buyer's question in the buyer's words. Start by writing down the questions your buyers ask, measure what the assistants currently answer, then publish pages that answer those questions directly and keep your business facts consistent everywhere. Measure again a month later. No step guarantees a mention; every step makes one possible.

How can I improve my company's AI visibility?

Work from a measurement, not a hunch: a dated baseline of what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini answer today, then specific changes to your own site, then a repeat measurement. The changes that matter in our work are direct answers to buyer questions, one clear statement of the business facts in visible text and in structured data that says the same thing, and separate French and English pages when you serve both.

How do I correct wrong information about my company in AI answers?

Find where the wrong fact lives. Assistants assemble descriptions from old directory listings, stale pages and inconsistent structured data. Correct the fact on your own site first, in the visible text and in the structured data, then in the listings you control, and check what the assistants say a month later. Record the wrong description before you fix it, so you can show the before and after.

How do I make AI assistants understand my services correctly?

Say each service in one plain sentence a machine can quote: what it is, who it is for, where you offer it, in which language. Use the words your buyers use, not your industry's. Put the same facts in structured data. A valid technical setup makes the site readable; it is the plain sentences that give an assistant something accurate to repeat.
