About

Who is behind Be Preferred?

Be Preferred is a small Montreal practice with one job: find out whether AI assistants name a business when a buyer asks who to hire, and change what that business publishes until the answer is accurate. It is run by Daniel Nataf, working in English and French from Saint-Laurent, Montreal.

What Daniel does

Daniel runs the desk. Every client has a written list of the questions their buyers actually ask. On a schedule, those questions are put to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and every answer is recorded word for word: which firms were named, which pages were cited, whether the client was described correctly. Daniel reads what the measurement shows, decides what to change on the client's site, approves every page before it is published, and sends the client a one-page report card instead of a forty-page audit.

Much of the routine work is automated: the measuring, the crawling, the comparison of a rebuilt site against the old one, the weekly traffic summaries. The decisions are not. Nothing is published, sent or changed on a client's site without a person approving it first.

How the practice started

The idea came from Daniel's father, David Nataf, who ran Montreal financing businesses and kept hearing clients say "ChatGPT told me to look into this" — while none of the good firms he knew were ever in those answers. That story is told in full here. Be Preferred is the discipline that came out of it: measure honestly, fix what the measurement shows, measure again.

What we will not claim

We do not guarantee that any assistant will recommend a business. The assistants change their answers over time and do not publish their criteria. What we can show is a dated baseline, the specific changes made, and what the answers said a month later. When our own name is missing from an answer, we say so: here is our own baseline, published with its failing grade.

What a client says

“Daniel came to us one day and said he was helping his friend’s website, I casually asked him to help mine too. The lift I have had has been beyond my expectation and above all the prospects are well vetted and match what we do to a T.”

“I was very sceptical but I asked for the free assessment anyways. It opened my eyes, the rest is history. I can’t get over the results.”
